What counts as an electrical emergency?
Not every fault needs an emergency call-out, but some do. Contact us immediately if you have:
- A burning smell from sockets, switches or the fuse board
- Sparking from a socket, switch or appliance
- Repeated tripping of an RCD that won’t stay reset
- Complete loss of power to part or all of the property
- Visible scorch marks on sockets or switches
- Flooding or water ingress near electrical fittings
Call first — or send us the details
For urgent issues call 07805 130132 directly. For non-urgent faults, use the form below and we’ll respond the same day.
What to do while you wait
If you smell burning or see scorch marks: turn off the mains switch at your fuse board and call us. Do not attempt to investigate live circuits yourself.
If an RCD is tripping: try switching off individual circuits to identify the affected one, then call us. Don’t leave a tripping RCD reset — it’s tripping for a reason.
If you have complete power loss: check your neighbours to establish whether it’s a street-level DNO fault (call 105 for your network operator), then call us if the fault is internal.
